The Dashboard is a customizable page that provides users with details of their progress and upcoming deadlines. In the center is the course overview block, which allows students and teachers to track required activities and filter courses easily.
The dashboard is the first screen that appears upon logging into the CLE. If course images have been added to the course settings, they will display in the dashboard. Where no images have been added, colored patterns appear.
Customize the Dashboard
The dashboard is customizable - users can move, hide, or remove blocks. To customize the dashboard:- Select the Edit Mode button in the top right corner. The button will change from grey to blue.
From here, you can customize the dashboard by moving sections around or by adding different blocks. - To move a section, select a section by clicking on the cross arrows (
) and dragging it to a different location.
- To add a block, click on the blue Add a block link and choose a block to add. Scroll down to the bottom of the dashboard to see the newly added block.
- To reset the dashboard to default, select the Reset page to default grey button at the top of the screen.
Course overview block
The Course Overview block is not displayed on the dashboard by default. This block must be added to the dashboard. Review the "Customize" tab to see how to add this block. Once this block is added, the default settings display all courses you have been or are enrolled in.
You can filter or change this view in several ways:
- Filter by course timeline: Select the first drop-down option, All, to view In progress, Future, or Past courses. This allows you to see only courses you are currently enrolled in, courses you are enrolled in that haven't started yet, and courses you have completed.
- Change view from last accessed to course name: Select the second drop-down option, Sort by last accessed to switch to Sort by course name view. This view will alphabetize the courses displayed. The default Sort by last accessed view will show you the courses in order of which was most recently accessed.
- Change view from card display to list or summary display: Select the third drop-down option to change the default card view to either a list of courses or a more detailed summary option.
Starred courses block
The starred courses block is valuable as it displays courses that you manually select to be displayed there. Courses that are displayed in the Course overview block can be starred so that they display in the Starred courses block.
To star a course in the course overview block (card view), click on the three vertical dots below the course name and select Star this course. Scroll up to find the Starred courses block to view the newly starred course.
